Nandi’s, Tugens, and Kalenjins are a blessed group of people who survive at high altitude geographical regions devoid of enough oxygen. This implies their incredible performance in long-distance runs in athletics. The altitude has however taken a toll on their thinking capacity and negatively impacted their decision-making.
The Rift almost voted 99.9% pro William Ruto was a presidential
candidate against R.t Hon. Raila Odinga and others. The votes cast exemplified
their expectations for priority whenever ‘their’ government takes over.
However, this has not been the case as most of the ceremonies and political visits to the region have been ‘Thanksgiving Ceremonies’ for their votes to the political elite from the region the recent being attended by Rigathi Gachagua as the Chief Guest hosted by Eli Rop.

In a twist of events, citizenry from the region noted
that ‘their’ president was in Nyanza region launching an endless chain of economic
development projects in a political region deemed an opposition stronghold.
This has not resonated well with the Nandi people and most of those who voted for William Ruto expect to be awarded priority for development.
Facebook posts and comments seen by the author imply
rage and disappointment for the president calling him out for neglecting the
region even when his earlier boss H.E Uhuru Kenyatta similarly did nothing for
the region.

Note should be taken that the current president was busy cutting deals and amassing wealth when he was the DP and care less for his region's development status.
Rift Valley residents have also identified how some of
the grassroots leaders they voted for have little might to show in parliament
buildings. One of them pointed out is a renowned staunch supporter of the president
who has a constant itchiness to make any kind of sound to please the president.

Ironically, one of the users and members in the Facebook group pointed out that she doesn’t identify with any of the current leaders because they were installed by UDA party leadership into governance.
